What type of approach do you take when it comes to weight training and working out?

Did you even think about your upcoming workout?

Do you have your log book with you?

How much weight did you lift last time? How many reps did you do?

Surely, you have a plan to improve on the previous workout. If you want to build muscle, you better plan on getting better and making progress each and every workout. If you don't give your body a reason to build muscle, it's just not going to happen...

Now, in order to improve each and every workout, you must develop a specific mindset. And you must get your mind in shape for each and every workout. If you are serious about building muscle, you must develop this mindset.

Do you think it's easy to improve every workout? Do you think you can just step into the gym and get better each and every workout? No, it isn't easy. Weight lifting is a war against the weights. You must develop a certain strong and powerful mindset to get better.

If you really want to make progress, you need to listen to what I have to say. I went years wasting my time, money, and effort so I know how it feels.

This mentality I speak of is the WARRIOR mentality. The warrior prepares for the battle. The warrior never gives up. The warrior fights until the end. And the warrior is relentless against his/her opponent. Nothing stops the warrior.

When you step into the gym and those gym doors shut behind you, you have now entered the battle arena. It's time to turn the no BS switch on. It's time to get your log book out. And it's time to beat your previous numbers.

Sure, weight lifting is tough. It's even tougher when you battle the weights each and every workout trying to lift heavier or do more reps. But, you have to prove to your body that it needs more muscle to survive the next workout. Do that, and you will build muscle!

During each and every set you perform there will come a time in which you must make a decision. Your mind will be telling you to stop. Your mind will tell you that this is just too much to handle. The truth is: Your body can do more. If you stop when your mind tells you to stop, you'll never build muscle. Would a warrior stop the set?

NO. Hell No. A warrior does not quit. It doesn't matter what it takes. A true warrior will do whatever it takes to win the battle. A warrior laughs at pain and wants more. Victory is near. Never stop fighting.

I once believed I couldn't lose weight but then I was given an almighty wake up call by mother nature.

I was carrying around 15 pounds too much for most of my adult life when I got type two diabetes at twenty seven. Talk about a shock.

I'm a systems man at heart. Whatever I do if I can boil it down to a system, I will. Weight loss is no different.

I'm a bit shy to admit just how much money I've wasted on crap diet products and gotten absolutely nowhere with them. Maybe by copying what I do you can save a lot of money and cut right to success.

After a lot of trial and error I found a system that works for me. One that allows me to plan my whole day beforehand and then I just follow the rules.

My system has a computer generated meal planner that cuts the stress out of deciding what I can and can't eat. I have portions that don't leave me hungry, which is rather important to me!

I used to get really stressed out planning a daily diet. Working out what was good or bad was becoming a nightmare. A couple of mouse clicks now and I'm good to go.

Pathway to Wellness with Acai Berry

My husband and I are together for over 10 years now. I am 30 years old, yes; I got married when I was 20 years old. Young, huh? Anyway, for the past 10 years, I was not concentrating on my body, I was focused on my family and I did not realize that I have already gained a lot of weight. The acai berry diet in many ways is similar to the green tea diet because of its power. At the end of the day though, the acai diet has some advantages over green tea that make it a better option.

For starters, the acai berry is a natural product that you can take in. It is a fruit and because of that it fits quite naturally into your diet. Green tea on the other hand is something that might not fit naturally into a person's diet because all of them do not drink tea. It is perfectly valid not to drink tea in your diet, but if a person does not eat any fruits in their diet, they need to make a dietary change in the worst way.

Another difference has to do with the ingredients that are added within each of the two substances. When you are dealing with the acai berry diet, what you should notice is the fact that it is a completely natural ingredient that you could actually pluck off a tree and eat if you were in the right part of the world. Green tea is not a natural product, but rather a drink derived from tea leaves that contain caffeine. Not everyone likes caffeine or is willing to take it in, which once again gives the acai diet the advantage.

One thing to like about both of the products is that they are easily transferable to other sources. Green tea is available in drink, pill and patch form while the acai berry is available in normal, dry, powder and capsule form. This flexibility is definitely something to be desired.

A Sample Food Plan for HCG Dieters

Eating well while on a very low calorie diet (like the popular HCG diet) isn't as hard as it seems. If you take full advantage of the foods you are allowed you won't miss the missing items nearly as much! There are many healthy, low fat, sugarless meals you can come up with when you incorporate the lean meats, fresh produce and Stevia that are recommended/required for the diet.

For example check out the sample diet plan below. It offers variety while fulfilling the HCG diet requirements. And maybe most importantly...it tastes good!

Day 1:

Breakfast could be limited to Pomegranate herbal tea sweetened by Vanilla Stevia. The Pomegranate herbal tea carries a lot of extra healthy benefits and you'll be surprised how filled you'll feel after a cup of sweetened tea. For lunch you can have low fat cottage cheese, half a grapefruit (with sugarless sweetener), and 2 melba toasts with some sugarless salsa. That gives you your protein, your fruit, your starch and your vegetable. Now for dinner you can have grilled chicken (use your favorite no carb seasonings), steamed cabbage with salt and pepper, and 2 melba toasts enhanced with vanilla Stevia drops and some strawberries.

Second Day:

Breakfast for your second day is half of a grapefruit sweetened by Stevia. You are also welcome to have your tea with breakfast. At lunchtime have grilled chicken with grilled peppers, onions and celery with crunched up Melba Toasts wrapped in lettuce (yummy lettuce wrap). Add the other half of the grapefruit you had for breakfast as your requisite fruit. Dinner will be grilled fish and roasted asparagus with Melba toast. Stay up late tonight. Watch a movie and have an apple!

Third Day:

For breakfast have your tea and an apple. If you want to mix it up...chop your apple into slices and then drizzle lemon juice over it. It's yummy! In the early morning put your roast in the crockpot (you'll be enjoying a very lean roast for dinner). With the roast put celery and onions. It will cook slowly throughout the day. For lunch make HCG chili; fresh tomatoes, lean ground beef or shredded chicken, onions, spices...and don't forget the chili powder! Scoop it onto Melba Toasts for extra crunch. For dinner enjoy your roast with veggies and Melba Toasts. Then for dessert...make cut an apple in half, sprinkle cinnamon on it and warm it up. It will feel like a rare indulgence.

As you can see if you think ahead of time you won't struggle to incorporate all the foods at the necessary time and you won't feel that you aren't getting to eat. The simplicity of the diet plan is one of the things that makes it such a great success with many dieters so stick to simple while incorporating just enough variance to keep yourself satisfied. And don't forget to drink water constantly!

Should your Son do Ballet?

Girls and ballerinas go hand-in-hand. Even in days of female superheroes, the ballerina dreams of 5 year old girls are still popular. To boys, a ballet dancer is a girl - someone in a pink tutu and ballet shoes.

One of the main reasons for this is that somewhere across the years, the original idea that ballet dancers were men has been lost. Back in the Italian Renaissance period it was only men who danced on the stage. They would dress up as women wearing a hoop-skirt that would end at their knees. Known as a tonnelet, this would help identify their roles in the ballet as female. Over the years the number of men who perform ballet has diminished considerably and today comparatively few males enter this predominantly women's world.

Why Little Boys Should Do Ballet

Whose idea is it for your son to join a ballet class? You may love the idea, but the chances are that your son is going to be less than enthusiastic! You may see the reasons why ballet would be great for your son, but getting him to understand that ballet will make him stronger and more flexible won't be easy, especially if he's of an age to have friends who won't support his dance style choice! Boys are very gender conscious and want to appear tough and cool - boys in ballet do not have a tough cool peer image and this is something you're going to have to overcome in order to get him to go to class.

In order to convince your son to join ballet classes, he must already have an interest towards the dance. If at an early age, your son had shown interest in dance or ballet, then you should enroll your son in ballet classes as early as possible. This will allow them to develop a liking for the activity without any outside influences. When they grow older and have more friends, they may get influenced by stereotypes that ballet is a girl thing. Suggesting that he take classes at a later age will further lessen the chances that your son will like the idea of ballet.

Bringing Boys Around to Ballet

Hollywood has been kind to parents who want their boys to at least try ballet class. With movies such as Billy Elliot and Center Stage showing not only that boys can do ballet, but also that they can be normal cool kids - they just enjoy dancing. "So You Think You Can Dance" on TV is a great way of showing your son that although his friends aren't interested in dancing, there are plenty of other boys who are!

If you can find a ballet school, or even a class, that's all boys then you'll have an easier time convincing your child that he's not the only boy in the world taking ballet class! He will be part of a group of boys who are all interested in learning how to ballet dance and will give him a network of friends who share his dance interest. Make sure you point out how strong ballet dancers are, and how the flexibility he learns at ballet can help him in other sports.

At first, it may be hard to convince your son to join ballet classes. Even if they agree to join ballet classes, chances are that he will be affected by what his friends will say about ballet. It is your responsibility as a parent to ensure that you won't let these things get to your son. Make sure that they are having fun in this activity.

Tips to Know Before you Attend Ballet Classes

1. Ballet is all about stretching. It's used to strengthen muscle groups as well as warm them up ready for dance. The stretching assists in posture and helps to lengthen the body. It's vital that all ballet dancers participate in a stretching workout prior to beginning the dance element of their class so that injury from stressing unprepared muscles is avoided.

2. Learning all the dance step names. Study every single dance step name before you attend a class. This will help you not get overwhelmed by how many steps you have to memorize. Most of the steps are in French and there are many to learn. If you can find a local ballet store, purchase a ballet dictionary or search the internet for ballet terms and print them out and study them all. Make sure your ballet instructor is present, you do not want to learn the steps the wrong way. A great ballet class will teach dancers slowly for the first couple of months. It will take a while to learn the words and steps, just be enthusiastic and motivated! You will survive.

3. Getting the right size shoe is always important, but it's every more important when it comes to ballet shoes. You need to have a shoe that supports your foot correctly. Don't be tempted to buy the first pair of ballet shoes you try on. Try a few pairs and see which fit you snugly and feel the most comfortable. If possible purchase these from a store that specializes in dance clothing and where the staff are trained in helping new dancers choose the right size footwear.

4. Ballet lessons always start with barre work. This is intended to build up your flexibility, your posture and of course your balance. You might find it boring but remember that even the most famous ballerina in the world will start her daily dance session at the barre doing very much the same exercises that you are doing.

5. Find out what the ballet school's dress code is before you go shopping! Ballet classes are notorious for having strict rules they expect to be followed and they may well require a certain type of ballet clothing to be worn by all students regardless of ability. You may be allowed to wear a tutu, or your ballet school may have a rule that says tutus should only be worn for performances. Leotards, tights and shoes are standard, but colors of these will vary so it's best to check in advance. There may also be a requirement to have hair pinned up so if you have long hair you should also ask about that before your first class.

6. Ballet dance style requires certain things from your body and if you take different types of dance class you could find that you aren't able to separate out the various poses and movements. Ballet beginners should at least have some basic ballet steps and posture requirements perfect before they participate in less formal dance styles.

7. Ballet is a very formal dance form. It is very strict about using the correct etiquette at all times. You will learn this as you learn your ballet steps, but if in doubt, always follow what your ballet teacher tells you. Even the best ballet dancers in the world respect and follow their ballet teacher's advice.

Get Omega 3 Fats In Your Diet, However You Can.

It seems quite clear to me that our diets are too low in Omega 3 fats and that a sufficient supply of Omega 3 fatty acids is essential to our continuing good health. And so for some time I've been taking Omega 3 supplements.

But recently I spoke to a friend about this and he told me he wouldn't take supplements. That supplements are unproven, and not mainstream medicine, and that they weren't something you ought to take. So I thought I'd discuss that.

Because there seems to be the perception that dietary supplements are a bit of voodoo, something that makes money for the people who make them, but quite unnecessary.

And there are many people who see dietary supplementation as non medical, something ordinary people ought not do, and somehow "alternative".

So lets see if there is any acceptance of Omega 3 dietary supplementation by mainstream medicine.

Well lets start with the American Heart Association. They say that, I quote here:

"Omega-3 fatty acids benefit the heart of healthy people, and those at high risk of " or who have " cardiovascular disease."

Their recommendations about Omega fats is that we eat fish at least twice a week and that we also eat other foods containing omega 3 oils like tofu and various oils such as canola oil.

And they are quite specific about people with CHD (coronary heart disease). They should eat at least 1 gram of EPA and DHA per day, and for those who need to lower their triglycerides its suggested that they take from 2 to 4 grams of EPA and DHA as capsules, doctor supervised.

You cant get any clearer than that. The AHA recommends the intake of omega 3 fats, preferably as food but also as capsules, every day.

Diet is of course a great way to take your Omega 3. But it isn't always quite as easy to take in enough good fats by diet alone, and I'll give you an example of why.

There is omega 3 in something most of us eat every day. Beef and lamb. Well there is if they are grass fed, but as most of the beef and lamb we eat daily is now grain fed there isn't much omega 3 fats in them now.

So it isn't actually that easy getting enough good fats in your diet, and so studies have found that our diets are deficient in them.

And if you're wondering where the mainstream medical acceptance of Omega 3 supplementation is, start with the AHA. They're pretty mainstream. There's nothing 'alternative" about taking Omega 3 capsules to the AHA.

Acai Berry - Vitamin C and Antioxidants

I have been a dog lover ever since. In reality, I have 4 dogs in the house. I actually don't take care of them like dogs. I take care of them as my family, part of my family that is. We had pet dogs ever since I can remember.

The first dog that I ever had was Jeffrey and he was with us for 5 years but he died, I was 3 years old then. My mom was never pro dogs because she's afraid of the dog hairs that it might affect my health but I was persistent so she allowed me to have dogs. My mom is working in Hawaii so we only see each other every 3 months. So every time she's away, I always make it a point to sleep together with my dogs, the four of them.

8 months ago, I was rushed to the hospital because of asthma attack. That was my second attack in 24 years but it was the worst attack ever. When I was rushed to the hospital, I was nebulized 7 times because I can not breathe at all.

After two days, I recovered. The doctor told me to avoid eating foods that can cause my asthma like chicken, egg, eggplant and many others and his last instruction was to get rid of my dogs. I was not able to sleep actually well when I was in the hospital for the reason that I was constantly thinking about my dogs and what to do with them.

When I was discharged from the hospital, I was problematical for about a week since I can't seem to figure out what to do with my dogs. I was reading a lot of different books just to get an answer but I did not find anything until a friend of mine told me about acai berry and how it can help cure asthma.

You see, acai berry contains vitamin c. While it may not stay close with guava as the fruit with the highest vitamin c content, the quantity of vitamin c that acai berry has is adequate to enhance the body's necessity for the vitamin. Calories Burned Walking - 15 Ways To Do It !

6. If you own a dog you have a huge advantage - not a dog owner ? - then find someone who is and volunteer to walk their dog once or twice a day.

7. Try to walk for ten minutes after every meal which, apart from shedding calories, really does help with digestion.

8. To add interest to your walk invite a friend or take some kids along.

9. Walk in areas that you would not see from a car, public gardens, riverside paths or woods, you'll be surprised at the things close to home that you are not familiar with.

10. To stop yourself from becoming bored, if you are on your own, you could listen to your mp3 player, while walking.

11. You don't have to join a walking club however 'peer pressure' can be a good thing and they will know where all the interesting local walks are.

12. Kids still going to school ? - could you not walk with them there and back and forget driving.

13. Calories burned walking means losing weight so by increasing the amount you walk each week and putting yourself on a sensible diet you will see and feel the benefits surprisingly quickly.

14. Walking will help cut the risk of serious conditions such as heart attacks and strokes, reduce back pain, improve posture and benefit just about every organ in your body.

15. Walking does not require spending your hard earned on fancy exercise machines, at worst you may have to get some new walking shoes.

History of the Spiritual use of Mushrooms

Since at least 5,000 B.C., people have used "spiritual mushrooms" in their religious rituals. The San Peoples of Tassili in southeast Algeria left behind cave paintings illustrating dancing, masked medicine men with mushrooms in their hands. It's believed the mushrooms were of the consciousness-altering variety.

Tassili is located in an area that today is an uninhabitable mountainous desert. But in ancient times, the climate was wet, allowing not only humans to live there but also cattle, and even crocodiles. The San Peoples were culturally tied to other tribes across the desert, from Chad to Egypt, maybe even Greece.

Jumping forward 3,400 years in time to Greece, 1,600 B.C., we find the Eleusinian Mysteries. Continuous for an astounding two millennia, the Eleusinian Mystery initiation was the most important spiritual ceremony of ancient Europe. Scholars believe the Mysteries involved use of consciousness-altering mushrooms. With well-known participants like Plato and Aristotle, its influence on western civilization cannot be denied.

Later Vikings are known to have consumed limited amounts of the today much feared poisonous species Fly agaric (Amanita muscaria). Ironically, they appear to have used it to overcome fear through religious rituals in which they danced and ate mushrooms before fearlessly going into battle.

Of course many of us may not think highly of the Viking warrior spirituality but it was an undeniable part of their religious practices whether or not we approve. At the same time, across the Baltic Sea, Siberian shamans also used Fly agaric to achieve spiritual communion with their gods.

In a controversial book titled Soma: Divine Mushroom of Immortality by R. Gordon Wasser, Fly agaric is even attributed as the source of the Vedic juice called "soma" - a liquid described to have been used in ancient Hindu religious practices, and said to be bestow divine qualities to the soul of the consumer, even immortality.

(Important note: Fly agaric - Amanita muscaria - is poisonous and may also be easily confused with other even more deadly species. Consumption for any reason is vehemently discouraged.)

Across the Atlantic Ocean, spiritual rituals using consciousness-altering mushrooms were first recorded in the Mixtec Codex, which is of uncertain age from between the 13th and 15th centuries. In ancient engravings, the Mixtec gods are often depicted with mushrooms in their hands.

Even though Mixtecs clearly told westerners of their use of spiritual mushrooms in sacred ceremonies, American and European scholars still doubted them in classic condescending fashion.

An American botanist named William Safford was convinced that peyote buttons were confused for mushrooms, while other scholars maintained that the Mixtec tribe truly did use consciousness-altering mushrooms in their spiritual practices.

This debate carried on until amateur anthropologist Robert Weitlaner was invited to observe a Mixtec religious ceremony in the early 1930's and witnessed the use of mushrooms firsthand.

Two decades later, R. Gordon Wasser and his wife Valentina Povlovna were the first white people to participate in a Velada (mushroom ceremony). This religious ceremony lead by shaman Don Aurelio was described by Wasson in a 1957 Life Magazine article, which became the spring-board for public awareness of mind-altering mushrooms.

25 species of the Psilocybe genus are known to contain the consciousness-altering chemical compounds psilocybin (stable) and psilocin (unstable). The species used by the Mixtec culture are believed to have been Psilocybin caerulescens and Psilocybin mexicana. The more common and sometimes cultivated species Psilocybin cubensis did not exist in America before the arrival of Europeans.

Spiritual mushrooms have been illegal in most of the world since the 1970's because of their potential misuse as recreational drugs. Only in The Netherlands were fresh Psilocybe allowed to be sold until less than a year ago.

That all changed after a French 17-year-old girl jumped off a bridge when eating Psilocybe mushrooms. The Dutch parliament responded with a ban on the sale of so called "magic mushrooms," which took effect December 1, 2008. From Tassili to Amsterdam, the use of spiritual mushrooms is now officially history.

Basic tips for Ballet Barre:

1. Know the six positions:

First - keeping heels together, turn the feet outwards so that the toes point to the side.

2nd Position - as 1st position but with a gap of about 12 inches between your heels.

Third Position: Same as first position but your heels will overlap.

Fourth Position: Same as third position but your feet are between six inches and a foot apart.

Fifth Position: Same as fourth position but your heel is on top of the big toe.

6th Position - both feet flat on the floor with toes pointing forwards.

2. Beginners do plies exercises in either 1st or 2nd position whereas intermediate and advanced dancers do plies in 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th.

3. Do tendus steps. Start in the fifth position. You will slide your foot: forward, to the side, to the back and you will finish in the fifth position.

4. Position yourself on the barre. Either with your left hand or facing forward. Beginner level dancers usually face the barre and intermediate and advanced dancers begin with their left hand placed on the barre.

Barre Leg Exercises:

1. Begin in the first of fifth position by standing straight. Position yourself sideways to the barre or face it.

2. Point your foot and raise your leg forward or to the side as dictated by the way you are positioned beside the barre. Don't use your buttocks to raise your leg, and remember to keep both of your knees straight and your leg turned out.

3. Take your hands off the barre and let your leg remaining resting on it to build strength - remember your posture. Stand tall!

4. Maintain your technique and posture by returning to the standing position in which you first started the exercise.

Ballet Tips:

1. Ballet dancing is a skill that takes years to perfect. Don't give up. Keep at the exercises and you will succeed.

2. Ballet shoes are often purchased when you enroll in ballet school or a specialized dance store.

If you are not ready for pointe shoes, do not worry, you can wear flat shoes and participate in jazz ballet, modern ballet or another form of dance. Ballet will give you flexibility that you will keep for the rest of your life.

The Proper Protocol for Using Miracle Mineral Supplement

If you aren't feeling nauseous at all, then you can go ahead the next day to the 2 drops in the morning and night, increasing the drops at a pace of one a day. So to give you an example, on day 4 or 5 your should be taking 3 drops both morning and night. And be sure to always mix in the activator too in the right proportion.

Follow these instructions and keep increasing until you are up to 15 drops twice daily, or if your body is detoxing whichever comes first. The signs of detoxing are diarrhea, vomiting, and nausea. If any of these symptoms do show up cut your dosage by 1 to 2 drops for around 2 to 3 days. Hold at this level until the bad symptoms go away.

The Third Step - The regimen mentioned in the second step needs to be done until you comfortably can take 15 drops twice a day with no feelings of nausea. Then you need to kick it up to 15 drops consumed 3 times daily, and do this for 7 days. Now after this level has been reached comfortably, then you need to switch to a maintenance dose of 5 to 7 drops daily for older adults, and the younger group needs to do 5 drops weekly.

Finishing Point - At the end of this regimen, your body will have a very low quantity of mold, bacterial, or yeast activating going on. You need to understand that any nausea or other side effects that happen are signs that a crisis is happening with your body healing, and it is vital that you stay with it. Understand that the nausea you have is a sign that one of your body's invaders is making a last stand, and they have decided to go out fighting.

Do You Know Why We Tend to Bruise More Easily as We Age?

Do you remember when you could study all day and hang out with your friends until the next morning? How about pulling all-nighters, and still being ready to head out for some fun on the weekends? When we are young, our bodies recover much more quickly from the damage that we do it, and one thing that you might have been noticing is that you are now seeing a lot more bruising. The truth is that we are subject to bruising more as we get older, and when those bruises do appear, they are no longer going away quite as fast.

The first reason why we may be bruising more as we age is that we have lost a portion of our fat layer that lies just below our skin. This causes the skin to have a rather papery appearance to it, and it is no longer as protective if we fall or bump into something. In the same vein, we find that the tissues supporting our blood vessels is getting a lot weaker, which makes them considerably more prone to incidental damage. As we grow older, the blood vessels themselves have become more frail, and we should be aware of that situation. When the blood vessels beneath our skin break because of blunt trauma, blood will pool below the skin, which causes the bruise formation.

When you are examining the process of why you might bruise more as you age, remember that there can often be other factors involved as well. Having spent a great deal of time in the sun might be a contributing factor, as will use of things like blood thinners, whether in the form of over the counter aspirin or corticosteroid drugs. Some people will also find that dietary supplements like vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, garlic, and ginseng can make them more prone to easy bruising.

Additionally, remember that bruising might be an indication of some of the more serious problems that can take place as we age. If you are truly concerned that you are bruising without any reason, you should explore the situation with your doctor. Painful Leg Cramps

Your mind has finally stopped racing and you have just nodded off, only to be awakened by a deep knot of sudden pain in your thigh, calf or in the arch of your foot. Athletes and high heel wearers alike are often awakened from sleep by the infamous nocturnal leg cramp or charley horse. And though these occasional cramps usually are not serious, they are undeniably painful and downright annoying.

Check your H20 levels

The exact cause of leg cramps is unknown, however, they are most often associated with dehydration and electrolyte imbalance. That said, and youve heard it before, drinking the optimal amount of water " 7 to 8 eight-ounce glasses of water per day " is the first line of defense against charley. Staying hydrated is also important for overall health, so the water speech bears repeating!

Stretch your stems

Also, easy stretches before bed can stave off cramps. Try this simple stretch before you hop into bed each night:

Stand facing the wall, 30 inches away. While keeping your heels on the floor, lean forward, put your palms on the wall, and slowly move your hands up the wall as far as you can reach comfortably. Hold the stretched position for 30 seconds. Release. Repeat steps 1 through 3 two more times. Just remember, when stretching, to take it slowly. If youre still bothered by occasional cramping, your diet may need slight supplementation. According to Charles Kuntzleman, EdD, associate professor of kinesiology at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, taking a daily supplement of 400 IU of Vitamin E is usually helpful. If the cramps persist, your body may be experiencing a lack of calcium and magnesium, found in dark green, leafy vegetables such as kale and broccoli. The Correlation Between Obesity and Infertility

Many years of in-depth research have now revealed a startling new fact: Obesity and infertility are related. Even though the causes of infertility are varied and many, recent studies clearly show that women defined as obese (due to their BMI exceeding 30)frequently have erratic menstrual cycles leading to irregular ovulation. When irregular ovulation occurs, the chances of becoming pregnant plummets.

Many of the obese women who suffer infertility are also diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome,which happens frequently when irregular ovulation and menstrual cycles are present. Diseases such as diabetes and hyperinsulinemia are also present more frequently in obese women and they also appear to negatively impact fertility. Additionally, when these problems happen, it's unlikely that in-vitro fertilization will be successful in obese women.

Fertility may be severely diminished by obesity

Other studies suggest that obese women have a higher rate of immature eggs and with inconsistent ovulation have a higher rate of tubular pregnancies, pregnancy that occur outside the uterus such as in the fallopian tubes. While this may be one cause of more frequent miscarriages among obese women, there appears to be other, not yet identified causes. The studies connecting obesity and infertility are pointing to the connection but additional studies continue to find the exact causes.

Birth Complications Show Increase For Obese Mothers

Recent studies in Sweden have shown that high blood pressure during pregnancy is four to five times more likely to strike obese women. Even more troubling is the revelation that stillbirths are more common in women with a body mass index of 35 or more. This appears to be clearly obesity related, since women with BMIs of 26 or less have far less stillbirths.

Babies born of obese mothers have two or three times more of a chance of having their shoulder get caught on the mother?s pelvis, which can cause injury or death to the newborn infant. There is also a higher possibility of the infant having a higher risk of gestational diabetes. The causes of many of the problems with obesity and infertility are being translated into many of the problems associated with pregnancies in obese women.

As research continues to further understand the connection between obesity and infertility, hypothyroidism is also being examined to determine if there is a connection. Many obese people, male and female with thyroid problems also suffer from obesity, but the connection between the thyroid, obesity and infertility are still being studied, the thyroid plays a large role in pregnancy for women as well as the health of the fetus.

Learn to Dance Salsa at Home

I don't know about you, but my wife would be very appreciative if I was learning how to dance Salsa, if you know what I mean.

Face it its hard not to notice the twinkle in her eyes, while she watching that couple on the dance floor swing to that Latin beat.It is also obvious by seeing the well toned beautiful legs and tight butts of the dancers, that there are other benefits to learning how to dance Salsa and other dances.

Even though I'm a man, I was even impressed when I seen some old classmates doing the Salsa at a class reunion, that I knew right away I had to learn how to dance Salsa.

My wife didn't believe I would follow through, but now she is very happy that next months reunion will include two more Salsa dancers. It really wasn't that difficult to learn Salsa with the Instructor we used.

My wife didn't want to go to dance classes; she was probably scared of being embarrassed of me, so we decided we needed to find a way to do this at home and I'm glad that we did.

We figured if we were going to do this we might as well learn from someone that is really making a living on the dance floor. The only way we could afford that kind of instructor would be to go the DVD rout.

You don't know how happy we were when we found out that Dancing with the stars Instructor Louis Van Amste made a DVD for learning to dance Salsa.Louis explains every dance step by step, or as with the Salsa it would be a three step dance. Because the training is with a DVD, you have the option to stop and replay a section as many times as you need, and that really helps.

Once we learned to dance Salsa from Louis's DVD, we were so comfortable with his style of instructions that we are now committed to learn all of the 8 different dances he teaches on DVD. We would never have the opportunity to learn all these by going to a weekly class.

There are other benefits to making a commitment like learning to dance Salsa, to your wife that I won't get into here. I do know that the looks she gives me on the dance floor, when she realizes everyone is watching with envy says it all.

If You Can't Lose Weight - You Need A Step By Step System

If you've been trying & failing to lose weight, maybe you are beginning to think you can't lose weight, simple as that.

I can re-assure you though that you can lose weight. Almost everyone can lose weight given the right system. Maybe you haven't found yours yet?

I used to just assume I couldn't lose weight. Then mother nature gave me a kick up the backside and forced me to think differently.

I was always around fifteen pounds overweight and at twenty seven I was hit with type two diabetes. It was like being hit by a train.

I really don't know the ins and outs of it but it shocked me there and then into taking this weight loss thing pretty seriously.

I love systems. Systems make things easier by breaking them down into manageable tasks. I thought weight loss shouldn't be any different.

A system is merely a set of rules you follow that should always bring you to the same end result. In your case here, getting your desired body.

The world we live in is built on systems. Most of our jobs use systems of some sort. It makes it easier for us to get the task done. So why not mould our weight loss regime into a system?

I'll admit now that I spent thousands on crap dieting products only to end up back where I started a few months later. I hope by showing you my path to success I can save you wasting the same money.

After a lot of trial and error I found a system that works for me. One that allows me to plan my whole day beforehand and then I just follow the rules.

My system has a computer generated meal planner that cuts the stress out of deciding what I can and can't eat. I have portions that don't leave me hungry, which is rather important to me!

When I planned my meals I used to stress over what I should and shouldn't be eating. Now, I generate a full menu with the computer and print it out. Couldn't be simpler.

Analyzing an Attacker!

A trained martial artist will be aware of how the attacker is holding his body, even if a fight is a frantic affair from the outset, and what his positioning means. This article details my thought evolution when I formulated a plan for handling attackers. What is nice is that it is workable in freestyle, so you don't have to go out and find a mugger to see if it works.

When sizing up an opponent one of the earliest things I learned was based on how he moved when you made a quick move towards him. If he blocked he was a blocker, if he moved back he was a runner, and if he moved towards you he was a fighter. This theory was put forth by Joe Lewis, and supposedly was originated by Bruce Lee.

Time passed, and I came up with my own observations in this matter. My observations were not based upon feinting towards an opponent to make a response, for that means you have wasted a motion, and if he is not wasting motion you're already in a fight. So I assumed that I was in a fight already, and that I better just get on with analyzing the attacker.

First, I judged speed and mass and such factors. If he was lean and quick he would be looking for speed and striking, and if he was chunky and strong, he would be more likely to close and grapple. And, of course, these generalities proved to be of incredibly limited value.

So I asked myself which hand was forward, and began to isolate whether he was right handed or left handed. This was much better, and told me where the power was coming from, and even what angle. Still, maybe a ten per cent gain in my overall knowledge, and not enough to give me an edge.

Still, I became aware of whether he was setting up for a kick by knowing which hand he was attacking with. I began to gauge distances, and how far an opponent was, and how I should angle my attack. The real key, however, was if he shifted to free up a leg or not.

Understanding the importance of the positioning of the feet and the hands, I began to separate the body in half. I would view it as two pieces, and estimate, from the angle he was facing me, what what angle I should take on the defense, and what angle he would take on the attack. This invaluable observation drove my effectiveness up by 70%.

There will always be a bit of mystery as to what is going to happen when you start fighting. Still, if you cut the body in half, top to bottom and side to side, you're going to have a distinct plan and reduce the mystery. Flabby Arm Exercises - A Massive Guide

It can be extremely difficult to unearth the best flabby arm exercises I know this because I tried to find the best arm exercises not too long ago.

Why is it so difficult? Because there are way too many opinions out there all coming from so called experts. And most of the time, said opinions are contradictions of each other.

How do you deal with all the bad advice? How do you discover the best flabby arm exercises for the fastest results? It can be hard, virtually impossible.

As a result, I've decided to take this problem head on. I am going to be embarking on an on-going review of all the arm exercises out there. So without further delay, here is today's review of high pulley curls:

1. Snap shot. This exercise is very useful for working on the pinnacle of your biceps. If done with perfect form, it can really make your biceps get the pop-out effect.

2. Technique overview. Stand straight up between two high pulleys. Grab both handles with an underhand grip. Breathe out and bring the handles towards your ears. Breathe in and return them to the starting position.

3. High frequency mistakes. Yanking the handles in by caving the chest in. Not doing the exercise through its full range of motion. And letting the neck tilt forward which is not good for the spine.

4. To do or not to do. This exercise is a somewhat specialized exercise for making your biceps peak. However, there are more effective exercises out there. The main issue with this exercise is that it does not work a large amount of muscle mass in your arms.

Those Who Think They Can't Lose Weight, Think Again

Can't lose weight? Or think you can't lose weight, then maybe you need to re-evaluate your thinking on this. Everyone should be able to lose weight. It's not impossible.

I once believed the same, that I can't lose weight, and probably never will. I was totally wrong on that point.

I used to lose a pound and pile two on, an endless merry go round. I changed when I was struck with type 2 diabetes.

Was it caused by me being overweight? I don't know and I don't think I'll find that one out. But I know it gave me the shock of my life.

27 years old and diabetic. But worse in my eyes was I had what was termed "age onset diabetes", what older people get.

I realised it was time to take drastic action. My health depended on a proper attempt at losing weight. My whole outlook had to change.

Like most "fatties" I tried all sorts of diets and gizmos. Some of the stuff was sickeningly expensive and turned out to be next to useless. I shudder at how much money I've thrown away.

What I found was a step by step system that allows me to plan my day and my meals. I can plan meals of a decent size that aren't going to leave me hungry.

My system has an online diet generator that really takes the stress out of planning my meals. What's worse than trying to work out just what you can and can't eat safely?

I was a sucker for eating any leftovers my kids didn't eat. I actually thought that it was wasteful to throw it in the garbage. Now I have a totally different mindset and we rarely cook more than we can eat.

If you are like I was and believe you can't lose weight then it's time you started to change your way of thinking. We can all lose weight if we just stop believing we can't lose weight.

It's a decision that you will never regret. You may look back and think how ridiculous it was to believe that you actually can't lose weight.

I'm a bit OCD and like to have everything I do put into systems. I like to follow lists of instructions knowing that at the end I'll get the result I expect. It's no different with my weight loss and it could be the same for you.

Sleeping Bag Blues

When it's time to buy your next sleeping bag, please consider the temperature ranges available before you purchase. What will the temperature be like where you are going? Does it get cold at night, and if so, how cold? I strongly recommend getting a sleeping bag that can handle temperatures 20 degrees below the forecast weather.

Two years ago, my husband and I decided to get a bigger boat (a common problem with boaters) and we found one in late October that was perfect. It was kept at a marina a few hours West of where we live, so we decided to bring it home by driving it down river, more cost effective than having it trailered. However, the boat had no heater.

It was time to get a new sleeping bag. So off to the Internet I raced. After checking 2 or 3 weather reports, I searched for info on sleeping bags that were good down to around 45F. Of course, I ended up with information overload - everything from synthetic versus down filled, to size & color & length & shape & blah blah blah.

I ended up choosing a sleeping bag from Mountain Hardwear called Sunrise. Yes, sleeping bags have names! It cost about $200.00 and seemed to suit my needs. Of course, I didn't really think about temperature options then, I was comparing prices and looks. This sleeping bag was a pretty blue one that matched our new boat!

But no, I went with color and completely regretted the decision that night. Arriving at the marina to pick up our boat in the early morning, the temperature was in the mid 60s and we enjoyed a lovely day cruise down river. We ended up on one of our favorite islands near Brockville, Ontario and had a nice meal just as the sun was setting.

Darkness came early and we knew we'd have an early start, so after a quick tour of the island to let our dog do his business, we made our beds in the aft cabin and were asleep by 10:00 p.m. A few hours after midnight, our dog woke me up and when my feet touched the floor, it felt like there was ice in the cabin!

I quickly ushered the dog into the cabin then dove back into my sleeping bag, but I swear my feet didn't warm up all night - it was miserable. I didn't even have the benefit of my husbands warmth, because he was all bound up in his own misery right next to me.

We found out the next day that the temperature dropped to around 25 overnight. First order of business that day, buy a portable heater! And my advice to all sleeping bag buyers: buy a sleeping bag that's good to 20 degrees lower than you think you'll need - you'll be happy you did!

Some Tips on How to Jump Higher

There are many different approaches in maximizing one's vertical jump. There are exercise programs that suggest the use of kettle bells, stairs, bands, and weights. There are those that suggest the development of your strength, motor unit recruitment, food programs, power, upper body muscles, and flexibility. There are also exercise programs that promise an increase in your vertical jump in a matter of 14 days, 8 weeks, 20 weeks, and many others.

With all these exercise programs, which ones really work? Although there are those how to jump higher programs that claim to have been proven to work, not all of them deliver the same results. The key here is to find the kind of how to jump higher routine that would best fit your needs.

Below are some tips on how you can improve your vertical jump. They do not guarantee that you will see results right away but, doing them properly and regularly can make you realize positive developments in your vertical jump.

Work on your muscles. One way to do so is through hitting the weight room. Your jumping power primarily depends on the condition of your leg muscles so make sure you work on them. You can strengthen your leg through calf raises. You can also do squats. Both exercises help you work on your muscles that primarily involved in jumping.

Remember to stretch your muscles daily. Stretching your muscles helps make them more relaxed. If your muscles are relaxed, they are able to put forth more energy. Staying on your toes when standing not also stretches your muscles, it also strengthens your calf muscles. After using energy, a round of jump rope can help your muscles recover quickly.

Give your legs enough rest between workouts. It can be very disappointing to wear out your legs during workout. What is more, you have more chances of causing yourself injury if you refuse to give yourself a time out in between workouts.

Of course, you have to practice jumping. Try to keep your focus on each part of your jump. See to it that your leg muscles are not the only ones that you utilize - make use of your abs as well. Your abs play an important part in making you jump higher. Having weak abs can hinder you from jumping to your full potential.

It can also be helpful to formulate your own mix of jumping exercises. Try to experiment with lunge jumps, box jumps, and explosive jumping and see which sets work for you best.

Most important of all, do not forget to track your progress and evaluate it regularly. Seeing improvements in yourself can motivate you to do more.

You wouldnt think that it would be possible to lose weight while eating more, would you? It goes against just about everything we believe and everything we have been taught.

However, once you can see how our bodies process food, and how this is controlled by our brains, the subject gets a lot easier to grasp.

A lot of false notions are flying around, about what's a good way to lose weight, why we put it on in the first place, and why it tends to stay on. Popular diet programs have no concept of the basics of how the body stores (and burns) fat.

The main enemy for dieters has always been seen as the food we eat, and the solution as how to eat less. But food is not the central issue, and eating less will not solve your problem.

And few would believe that it is possible to change your body in 11 days " that is, to reduce your body weight by 9 pounds in 11 days. That is very significant.

Yet, this has been achieved and documented. The methods used have been tried and tested, and are being used by people around the world.

In its simplest form, the system is built around the fat that when we eat, out brain produces 2 types of hormones. One of these controls the burning of fat and the other, the storing of fat.

And you can control the production of these hormones by eating certain foods - you can have more of the fat-burning type produced, and less of the fat-storing type.

Stop Snoring...

If you and your spouse suffer from horrible snoring, You are not alone. 23% of couples suffer seriously from this terrible condition. The problem isn't just the irritation of staying awake the whole night or waking up from a souse's elbow over and over again. Not getting enough rest is simply life threatening.

Losing your focus in heavy traffic during the day can be life threatening. If you are distracted for only a few seconds, you could easily wind up in a terrific accident. Another way loss of sleep can affect you is when your emotional and physical well being are out of balance. The result could be heart attack, nervous breakdown or stroke for example.

Don't go blaming your partner or yourself. I'm sure you've tried many things to reduce the snoring but nothing was totally effective. Many people have had dangerous, expensive surgery with no positive result. Some were even worse off after the surgery.

Knowing the cause of snoring is necessary before you can expect to cure it. Some type of blockage in your breathing passageways is the cause. Blockage of the airways causes irregular airflow which prevents your breathing from being smooth like normal. When the airflow is restricted it slams the soft tissues around like a screen door in a windstorm. Your throat and mouth act like speakers hooked to a powerful amplifier keeping the whole house awake while you sleep.

The noise becomes really bad when the soft palate (a flexible part of the back of the roof of the mouth) also begins to vibrate. Sometimes, if the soft palate is weak, then the tip of it will bang down on the tongue (which may be dropping into the throat at the same time) like a bongo drum.

It can be very complicated to cure snoring despite the fact that it only has one main cause. The reason is that the blocks vary so much. And whats worse most people have more than one type of block causing their snoring.

Your snoring can be caused by some or more of the following:

1) Tongue is weak and falls into the throat blocking it. Very common to those who sleep on their back but may also happen if you sleep on your side.

2) Tense jaw muscles put pressure on the breathing passages. This is what many dentist try to deal with by putting in dental implants. An easier way to avoid this is loosening up and relaxing the jaw muscles.

3) I mentioned the soft palate before. If it is weak, then it will flap around more easily and make the snoring sound. Notice that most of the time the soft palate is not too big. Its too weak.

4) When the soft palate is weak and not firm enough it will lay too close to the tongue and easily flap around making those irritating snoring sounds.

5) Anything that builds up in your throat works as a dam to your airway. Most common are cigarette tars or fat in the throat or sinus congestion due to allergies

Can you get rid of the blocks that cause you to snore?

It's just common sense, you can train this part of the body just like you do any other part of your body. You know, weight training for the breathing passages. With a few exercises each focused on a specific area around the throat can remove any block you have, no matter what is causing your snoring. It is simply that no matter what is blocking your air passages, the same few exercises will be effective for you.

A stronger, well trained tongue will not drop into your throat when you sleep.

Loosening up the jaw, using the jaw exercises will remove any tension from it. Youll be surprised how much easier youll breath after you do the jaw exercises.

To prevent the throat from closing when you are asleep you can do throat exercises which also strengthen and lift the soft palate keeping it from flapping any more.

Working smart is better than working hard. You determine how many minutes you want to train each day. The least you should do is three minutes but it is entirely up to you. You can start with as little as three minutes but if you want quick, long term results, you should choose a program that requires a commitment of ten minutes a day.

It varies a lot between people how quickly the exercises work. It is recommended that you be ready to work the program for two months. The program will most likely stop your snoring quicker than that. But if youre ready to give it full blast for two months, youre guaranteed to cure your self. And you should be ready to commit for about two months to permanently cure your snoring. Although most likely you will have quiet nights long before those two months are up.

I Was Convinced I Can't Lose Weight - Now I Know I Was Wrong

I see my adult life as part one and part two. Although there is weight loss involved here it's not why I see it in two parts.

Before for me was before I was told I had type two diabetes. One hell of a shock I can tell you. After is everything that came after.

I knew I was carrying a bit of extra girth but I never thought 15 pounds or so was dangerously overweight for someone in my mid twenties.

I'd been on the diet merry go round many times but I lacked the motivation. Plus I'd brainwashed myself into thinking I can't lose weight.

When I was motivated it seemed to take ages to lose a few pounds. When I wasn't motivated it seemed to take about a day to pile it back on.

Then came the bombshell of diabetes. I know it's not the end of the world but at the time it really feels like it.

My health now depended on me to shift the fat and most importantly to un-brainwash myself and to not believe I can't lose weight.

What on earth was I going to do? I always thought I can't lose weight and that's it. I find a system that worked and find it fast.

As I like to be a bit obsessive, I wanted something that I could follow step by step. Something that gave me a list of daily tasks that I could tick off one by one.

If my daily tasks were meals or a few exercises then I wanted a neat list of things I could tick off when I'm done. If I stick to the plan I must be doing it right.

I had differing levels of success with all manner of dieting systems and gizmos. Some quite expensive! I read plenty of books and lots of Ebooks.

I actually discovered a neat system that has a computer generated diet planner. Better still it doesn't restrict my meal sizes! It takes all the stress out of planning the correct meals and diet.

I said I like to tick boxes as I go, well this system ticks all the right boxes for me. Was that a bit of a pun there?

I can tell you from my own experiences that you are most likely wrong if you are assuming you can't lose weight. If you are yet to find a system that works for you then maybe that system is the one I'm using?

Marketing to Your Current Health Club Members vs. New Members

It's easy to become consumed with getting as many new members as possible, but in today's competitive health club market, you need to make sure you hang on to the members you already have. Otherwise they will happily take their money and their loyalty to another fitness center.

It is most likely you have heard that it is 7 times more costly to attract a new member than it is to keep an existing member happy. And you really don't have to make them "happy", you just have to keep them pleased. The main thing is to please them enough that they renew or continue on their roll-over membership. Let's put that into clear terms. Would you rather spend $10,000 on marketing or $70,000 on marketing, if both would generate similar amount of member revenue? Of course you would rather spend seven times less to receive the same results!

That's not to say that collecting new memberships is not important, because it definitely is. But attracting new members should never mean neglecting the members you currently have. It is funny how salespeople are amazingly sweet to guests, but once that guest becomes a member, that salesperson hardly notices them again. Okay, maybe not funny it is actually quite pitiful, considering your members are smart enough to recognize this change in demeanor. Overpromising and under delivering are commonplace in the health club industry these days. It is your mission to make sure this doesn't happen at your fitness center!

Determine what makes your members happy.

Ask each person when they check in at the front desk to fill out a quick survey. Ask both closed-ended questions and open-ended questions, which will allow them to elaborate on what they like and dislike. Question if they have any special requests and be sure to implement them, within reason.

If you are with a prospect and a member needs your help, make sure to oblige the member. The prospect won't be angry. Actually, they will recognize that your paying members are valued and are taken care of. If you take that extra second to take care of your existing member in front of your prospect, you can then use it as a selling feature. "My apologies. I hope you feel good to know that we would drop anything to assist one of our members!"

Make sure to pay attention to your members, always say hello and goodbye to everyone, and make it a point each day to get to know several of your members a little better. Inquire them how their day went. Ask how their family is doing. Explain to them a new exercise. Introduce them to another member with shared interests. Make sure you take care of your existing members and they will do so as well.

Massage Recliners Save You Thousands for Massage Therapy

It may seem like a contradiction. How do you save money when you have to spend money? Most people look at massage chairs as luxury items. They certainly are luxury items if you really do not need the massage therapy that they can provide. On the other hand, if you do need the massage therapy that they then massage chairs can save you a significant amount of money. Many people suffer from back pain or other conditions that require medical or chiropractic treatment. We all know that health care costs continue to rise. How do you save money buying a massage chair?

If you are already receiving massage therapy, then you know that there is a lot of expense involved. You have to make an appointment. You need to drive to and from the office of the massage therapist. You need to take the time from work or other activities. You need to pay per hour of massage therapist time plus their tip. If you go to a massage therapist a few times a month, the bill could be hundreds of dollars per month. This is thousands of dollars per year.

Maybe you see a chiropractor. A chiropractor may adjust you and then put you through various therapies to stimulate and relax your muscles. You may need to do stretching and other activities to help you heal. Health insurance may cover some of these costs or if you are lucky all of these costs. People like to look at sticker prices and judge massage chairs as expensive. Of course anything that costs over a thousand dollars is expensive. On the other hand, they see seventy five dollars per hour for a masseuse and think that is cheap. But let us dig into the real economics of a masseuse versus a massage chair. If we pay $75 with a gratuity of ten dollars then each hours runs us $85.00. Now a good midrange massage chair runs $3,000. Let us suppose we get a weekly massage. How many weeks until we pay for the massage chair? It will take 35 weeks. The thirty five weeks means we received 35 hours of massage therapy.

If we look over the longer run, we find that paying for the massage by the hour will buy the massage chair after 48 sessions. OK, now let us look at this from the massage chair perspective. A $3,000 massage chair is designed to last 1,000 hours. How much do we need to pay per hour of massage therapy. Let us divide $3,000 by the 1,000 machine hours and we get $3.00. That is right, with a massage chair we are paying $3.00 for an hour of massage therapy. Compare that to the $85.00 we are paying our massage therapist!

The real economics of the massage recliner is that it is a vastly superior value to traditional massage therapy. Obviously, getting a massage from a masseuse has its advantages beyond just the economics. But massage chairs also have some major advantages of availability and accessibility. Not to mention the overwhelming economic advantage. There certainly is tremendous value over the long run with a massage chair.

Improve Your Vertical Jumps

How many inches can you jump vertically? Ten, fifteen? That would probably be all right if you're a regular person who doesn't play a lot of sports, but that's a minimal height if you're an athlete, especially one who plays sports like volleyball and basketball. Those particular sports need serious vertical jumps from players. Have you ever heard of a volleyball player who can barely clear the net in an attempt to spike the volleyball back to the other court? Can a basketball player who can't jump very high possibly smash that ball into the net? As you can see, doing great vertical jumps is very important to an athlete.

Vertical jumps greatly rely on, not just the strength of your calves and your legs, but on the muscle power of your entire body, especially your thighs which help support your body weight and drive you upwards while you jump. To improve your muscle strength, you need to perform both strengthening exercises for your lower body as well as power workouts, which will condition your muscles to lengthen and contract quickly. Before performing any of these sets, make sure that your body is properly warmed up first; stretching your legs is particularly important.

Strength exercises for your legs include doing squats and lunges. Both exercises test your thigh and leg muscles, training them to carry your weight at its maximum level. You can also do several reps of vertical jumps each day; this might seem strange if you know you're not a very high jumper, but after a while, your body will get used to the movement and you'll develop the strength to jump even higher with each workout session.

Doing tuck jumps will also work your thighs and legs, preparing them for vertical jumps. Tuck jumps involving you bending your knees as the starting position, after which you will then bend into a deep squat, then launch upwards, bringing your knees to your chest in the middle of the jump. Upon landing, make sure your legs fall back into a squat. Repeat the tuck jumps as necessary, and remember to do these on a soft, stable surface.

When you're working to improve your vertical jump, remember to give your legs a break for a couple of days each week. You might think that training hard will help you jump higher more quickly, but you're only opening your legs to the risk of an injury. As with any workout, rest whenever you feel tired or are experiencing a sharp pain in your muscles, and always work out with a trainer to supervise you.

Troubled Summer For English Football's Big Four

As the dust settles after an epic battle for the English Premiership title, the summer months will bring along its fair share of speculation and rumors. What would be foremost on fans' minds will be possible transfer sagas. The development of Manchester City as the richest club in football will also be headline news.

The fates of the top four teams in English football might suffer some blows in differing degrees. The first that would come to mind would be that of Manchester United. Most might not agree, especially after another sparkling season winning the league title and reaching the Champions League final for a second successive year.

There are many things right about the club, but Alex Ferguson will have lots to think about in the summer. These include the neverending rumors of Cristiano Ronaldo leaving the club. The Portuguese star refuses to rubberstamp his long term commitment to the Red Devils and is a prime target for the richer clubs in Europe.

Manchester United could also rue their decision to haggle over the price for the popular Carlos Tevez. It has left the striker disgusted with the treatment dished out by the club and he is on his way out. This could leave the English champions' forward line in need of more reinforcements.

The club's record signing Dimitar Berbatov has not settled in well. Fans have started to get on his back despite the manager's support and insistence that the player would come good. A full season after the summer could make or break the Bulgarian's time at Old Trafford.

Finally, age is becoming an issue with the more experienced players in the champion's squad. Players like Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville and even Rio Ferdinand could see further decline in their powers. The new and younger crop of players have much potential but experience is something that cannot be bought with money.

The other major teams like Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal face major overhauls in playing staff and some at management level too. The former is likely to be the less disrupted but Chelsea and Arsenal have much to live up to based on recent reputations and success. The Gunners appear to be the most vulnerable with fan support for their manager dwindling.

For the detractors of English football, this might be good news to them. However, there are teams waiting in the wings to take over if any of the big guns fail to perform, such as Manchester City and Everton. There might be some disruptions ahead, but expect the champions and their challengers to still come good eventually.

Stop trying to gain weight to get big muscles. There is no need to bulk up instead develop the size you already have and get those muscles defined not big.

Now a muscular body in my mind looks great male or female, but it does not have to be massive. A normal sized body with muscle definition has got to be the best kind of looking body.

Now if you are, or looking to be a competing Bodybuilder then fine you have got to get those muscles big to stand a chance of winning any competitions. Although that said I do think that the size of some of these competing Bodybuilders has gone just a little to far, they just don't look real bodies any more which is a shame as it is a great sport and one I have always enjoyed.

So as I was saying the temptation seems to be to put on weight, bulking up is the term. I think this is probably more so the guys rather than the girls. Then it seems that they go hell for leather on the arms and chest. Plenty of bench pressing and bicep work.

The result is a big chest and big arms with the rest of the body trailing behind, and unfortunately the body is then out of proportion. How many times have you seen a guy proudly walking along with a tight shirt with a puffed out chest and sleeve stretching arms only to find as you look lower his legs are like sticks in comparison.

Think about life as we get older, we slow down and parts of our flesh start wiil to head south. So the less size you have the less that will drop and also the easier it is to keep tight and fit. This may not be a concern yet but it will be one day. So it has got to be better to get your muscles defined and tight rather than to opt for bulky size.

The effort needed to put into creating size is far more than fine tuning the size that you already have and apart from it actually looking more natural, it just looks better period. The other point to make is that you probably won't have to change your whole wardrobe because your overall size is roughly the same just more toned. If you like size though then don't listen to me it's only my view.

But ultimately it is up to you, may be you like size and you willtrain hard and heavy to build those massive rocks youare seeking. On the other hand you may be like me and have decided the route for you is to train lighter in respect of weight and more in respect of reps to get the muscle definition shinning through.
